Faith

" The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, the Rock of my salvation!" - 2 Samuel 22:47

Here's a poem by John Greenleaf Whittier. It is so true and applicable to all of our lives.

Faith

John Greenleaf Whittier

Nothing before, nothing behind;
The steps of faith
Fall on the seeming void, and find
The rock beneath.

There will be times in all of our lives where we have to take a step out in faith. We don't see how God's going to come through and it seems like if we did take that step of faith we'd be steeping right off into air. However, no matter what we feel, God's promises are true. "And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man that He should relent." - 1 Samuel 15:29. God is not going to go back on His word. He promises that when we commit our way to Him and trust Him, He will handle everything (Psalms 37:5). The Lord Jesus promised He would never leave us or forsake us (Mattt. 28:20, Heb. 13:5-6). We don't have to worry. The Lord is our Rock, our firm foundation. When we take that step of faith we will find the Rock underneath.
