"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6
Have you ever been faced with a decision and you just were not sure what to do? I sure have! Here is a acrostic that will help you alot.
Determine the options that are before you.
Inquire of the Lord.
Search God's Word to see what it has to say about your type of situation.
Consider godly counsel.
Eliminate worldly thinking that goes against what God's Word teaches.
Recognize God's leading.
Never compromise the truth.
OK. We have this acrostic that can help us make Godly decisions, but all this is not going to help you unless you have a submitted heart. Are you willing to do what God would have you to do even if it goes against would you would like? "... God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." - James 4:6. It really is pride and selfishness when we hang on to our will and do not yield to what God would have. God's way is perfect and best. Isaiah 55:8-9 says,"'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,' says the LORD. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.'" When we follow these steps with a willing heart, we will feel an assurance of what is God's will. Just as it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, we should not rely on what we think is right, but we should acknowledge God and seek what He would have. Trust Him that He will show you what to do because He will! Just follow what He would have you do.
